Eyes
from Kenya
Portraits
of the Masai Tribe and the villages in Kenya
Exhibited at the Giovenzana Gallery. Milan 1999
“…
when you arrive under the burning African sun, the great contrast
between the white smiles coming from the dusty streets and the immaculate
dresses walking around in the exclusive hotels, hits you like an
ice-cold drop of water on hot skin.
People seems to live in a slow-motion world, maybe it is due to
the hot climate or for the lack of work. However the circumstances,
always smiling and kind they welcome you with great respect.
In the Villages surrounded by children always searching for anything,
you can swap a candy for a smile.
For them everything is special.
Slowly at dusk in the bush, soft lights rise from the few oil burning
candles that brighten up the wooden huts, almost already asleep.
The African night is falling, waiting for the new sun…”

animals and people live their own freedom next to each other”
